Why choose a sliding door instead of a hinged door?
A traditional door requires quite a lot of free space. When the door is opened, it describes a large swing arc in which no cabinet, desk, shelving unit or other object can be placed.
This can be impractical, especially in smaller spaces.
A sliding door works differently. The door hangs from two sturdy hangers at the top and rolls over a horizontal rail on bearing-mounted wheels. Instead of swinging into the room, the entire door slides along the wall.

2-metre-long steel sliding door rail
The top rail consists of two matte-black steel rail sections which are joined together during installation.
After installation, this creates one sliding door rail with a total length of 200 cm.
The black rail remains visible after installation and, together with the large black rollers, forms an important part of the system’s appearance.
Smooth bearing-mounted rollers
The door is suspended from two sturdy matte-black steel hangers.
Above each hanger is a bearing-mounted roller. These wheels run along the top of the steel rail and ensure that the door can move smoothly from left to right.
This means you do not have to lift or pull open a large door every time, as is the case with some simple sliding door systems. The door rolls along the rail.
Door stoppers determine where the door stops
are installed on both sides of the rail door stoppers installed.
This allows you to determine the sliding door’s final position yourself. This prevents the door from rolling uncontrollably farther along the rail.
During mounting, adjust the door stoppers to the desired position.
Floor guide keeps the door straight
A top guide alone is not sufficient for a large sliding door. The bottom of the door could then move back and forth.
That is why the Wolff Mount system also includes a floor guide included.
This keeps the bottom of the door in place while opening and closing, so that the door continues to move neatly along the same line.
Safety device to prevent the door from coming off the rail
Blocking/safety components are also fitted to the top of the door.
These prevent the door from unintentionally moving upward and coming off the rail during normal use. Their function is also explained in the installation manual supplied.

Mounting the sliding door system
Before you start mounting, it is important to first determine whether the wall, door and mounting hardware are suitable.
The rail is attached to the wall above the doorway. The two hangers are then mounted on the door, after which the door can be hung from the rail using the bearing-mounted wheels.
The floor guide, safety devices and door stoppers are then fitted and adjusted.
According to the installation instructions, the rail height is determined based on approximately door height + 40 mm.
Always read the complete installation manual supplied before mounting.
Pay close attention to the substrate
A sliding door hangs with its full weight from the top rail. Correctly attaching the rail to a sufficiently strong structure is therefore essential.
Before mounting, check that the wall is suitable for supporting the sliding door system and the chosen door.
Examples of suitable structural substrates include a solid stone or concrete wall. Always use wall plugs and mounting hardware suitable for the wall in question.
Mounting directly to a plasterboard or hollow wall is not recommended.
Are you unsure about the construction or mounting method? Have the situation assessed in advance by someone with sufficient construction expertise.
Basic mounting hardware included
The sliding door system comes with a basic set of screws and mounting hardware.
Because walls can differ considerably, it cannot be guaranteed that the supplied mounting hardware is suitable for every situation.
For example, a concrete wall requires different mounting hardware than certain types of brick or wood.
Therefore, always check before installation whether the supplied mounting hardware is suitable for your specific wall and door.
